Welcome to Concordia University’s Evelyn’s Place – S.M.A.R.T. Lab Services. We are pleased to offer this self-service resource to all of our students, and appreciate your participation. Feedback about your experience will be valuable in helping us to improve the Lab. Below is information that will help you to understand and make the most of your experience.

I. S.M.A.R.T. Lab:

S.M.A.R.T. Lab services are provided free of charge for students who want to optimize their achievement, success, and holistic wellbeing through the development of stress management skills and resiliency training. Services utilized through the S.M.A.R.T. Lab will engage students through stress reduction practices while simultaneously equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary to better manage daily stress and increase overall resilience. The S.M.A.R.T. Lab is not intended to diagnose mental, emotional, or psychological disorders. The S.M.A.R.T. Lab is intended to provide specific knowledge and skills to all students experiencing stress.

II. Logistics of the S.M.A.R.T. Lab Process:

The S.M.A.R.T. Lab provides free stress management and resiliency training to all CUW students through individual sessions, group sessions, and specialized workshops. Once you have been oriented in use of the Lab, you may access it 24/7 using your CUW ID card.

  • Once you have watched to two training videos above and read through the consent form on this webpage, simply fill out the form below and wait to receive your email.  
  • Group Sessions and Workshops: Group sessions and workshops will be arranged in collaboration with Residence Life, and will be designed to supplement individual S.M.A.R.T. Lab sessions.

III. Confidentiality:

S.M.A.R.T. Lab training is not a confidential relationship and services provided through the S.M.A.R.T. Lab are not considered professional counseling. Any information generated in the S.M.A.R.T. Lab is not part of your educational record, but is protected by the Family Educational Rights Protection Act (FERPA). Information collected from your use of the S.M.A.R.T. Lab may be shared in aggregate for purposes of funding, administration, research, and publicity. The goals of sharing any such information would be to improve the resources available in the S.M.A.R.T. Lab and your wellness. Every effort will be made to respect your privacy, but ultimately, privacy in this relationship can only be fully ensured by what information you choose to keep to yourself. Your S.M.A.R.T. Lab participation is not part of any other university record.

IV. Limitations, Potential Risks, and Benefits of S.M.A.R.T. Lab Services:

Most individuals find S.M.A.R.T Lab services to be beneficial in accessing strengths, utilizing tools for stress management, and increasing overall resilience. If concerns arise outside of the scope of the S.M.A.R.T. Lab, instructions for accessing other university services will be available in the Lab.

V. Recourse for Dissatisfaction with Services:

You are encouraged to address any concerns or questions that arise in the course of your use of the S.M.A.R.T. Lab with Residence Life via email (residence.life@cuw.edu).
