Concordia Wisconsin’s pre-medical pathway offers a seamless transition from a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences to a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) through an exclusive partnership with Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM). This pathway provides rigorous academic preparation, hands-on learning experiences, and personalized support within a faith-based environment. You will gain a strong foundation in biology, chemistry, and health sciences, ensuring you are well-prepared for medical school.

LECOM Erie campus also offers the Primary Care Scholars Pathway (PCSP) designed to attract students to primary care, general internal medicine, and family medicine by condensing four years of medical education into three years.

For first-time freshmen and transfer students:

Complete our online application
Provide Official High School Transcripts (college transcripts, if applicable)

Optionally, high school seniors may provide their ACT score.

LECOM Admissions

Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) requires all students interested in the pre-medical pathway to interview with LECOM within the first two years of education at Concordia. Concordia's experienced team of pre-med advisors will coach students through every step in the process. Students who successfully interview will be offered a provisional acceptance into the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program. Once students meet the criteria for final acceptance, they will matriculate into the LECOM campus of their choice.

Per year, LECOM will accept at least 5 students from Concordia into the DO program.

About LECOM

LECOM pathways

Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) is one of the nation’s largest medical schools and is the only osteopathic academic health center in the nation. LECOM has four unique pathways for you to complete your D.O. degree:

Traditional Lecture Discussion Pathway (LDP)
- In this pathway, you will spend the morning in lectures and the afternoon will be spent in a combination of lectures, labs, tutorials, small group discussions, and independent study sessions.
Problem-Based Learning Pathway (PBL)
- In this pathway, you will be divided into small groups and study patient cases, in place of a traditional lecture program, to provide the context for acquiring and understanding medical science.
Self Directed-Study Pathway (DSP)
- This pathway follows the same curriculum timeline as the Lecture/Discussion Pathway, but utilizes a different curriculum delivery model that is mostly independent of faculty lectures.
Primary Care Scholars Pathway (PCSP)
- This pathway allows those interested in primary care to gradaute in three years. The first two years are spent in preclinical education. Clinical trainings will begin March of the second year and continue into the third year.
